Vatican says Pope is not liable for day-to-day actions of priests

You know, this is really gotten out of hand. Yesterday, the Vatican made the laughable statement that the bishops, monks, etc were not employees of the church so the Vatican cannot be sued. WRONG. The test is - is the church your sole source of income? Does the Church take up the majority of your time working? Then you are an employee.

Any first term law student would see through that stupid argument.

But today, the Vatican makes a valid argument. I agree. You cannot sue the Pope for anything as long as he is cloistered in the Vatican. You can, however, sue the individual Archdiocese and confiscate their land, property and everything else.

Oops. I forgot. We are so stupid that the Pope, who is incredibly intelligent, doesn't think we'd think of that one.

The fact is the Catholic Church has long been the greatest collection of child molesters in history. It's gone on for centuries - and the Vatican has covered it up and swept it under the table. Now they are caught and can't hide it any more.

So what does the Catholic Church do? Stand up and take responsibility? Hell no. It's protect the money. Throw anyone to the curb or under the bus, but save the Pope and the Vatican bank.
