WTG, Barry. El Presedente actually did something. No. Wait. Reading on the ban is only on NEW, as yet non-existant wells drilled in the gulf. Since no new deep ocean wells are planned I suppose the ban will really work and stop the oil companies from putting me wells off the gulf shore.

Crist announces independent bid for Senate
"ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Former GOP darling Gov. Charlie Crist defected from the Republican Party on Thursday to run as an independent for U.S. Senate after months of being ripped by conservatives as too supportive of President Barack Obama."

Now this really points to the major problem in American Politics. Charlie Crist was an independant who pleaded with both parties for support in being elected Governor of Florida. The Republicans agreed to kick in more than the Democrats so Crist became a "hie-hard Republican." From day on there has been something terribly wrong with that picture.

I think the St Peterberg Times nailed it with this paragraph from an article dated 4/25
"He ran for governor and was nominated and elected as a conservative,'' said Republican strategist Roger Stone of Miami, a former Crist supporter. "After he was elected he went on an ego trip and began to believe he was more popular and more important than his party and his principles. It was all about Charlie — the cult of Charlie."

Now Crist has pissed off everyone in Florida and it's clear he can't get re-elected Governor so he's going to run for the US Senate? HEY, CHARLIE. LISTEN UP. THE SAME PEOPLE HOW WANT TO THROW YOUR DUMB ASS OUT OF THE GOVERNORS MANSION ARE THE SAME ONES YOU ARE HOPING TO VOTE YOU INTO WASHINGTON.

Democrats call for overturn of Arizona's new immigration law

Oh how things get turned around. Three years ago the Democrats were screaming about immigration reform. Obama 2-1/2 years ago PROMISED comprehensive immigration reform. I suppose pulling the National Guard from the border, stopping the construction of the wall and further devastating the Border Patrol's budget is immigration reform to him, but not to anyone else. Now the Democrats are united in an effort to kill the Arizona law. If this weren't serious it was almost be funny.

Let's cut through all the rhetoric and smoke at look at what's really going on here. In the fall of 2008 Obama and a number of Democrats were elected to Congress and the Senate. They thought they owned the world. Then reality set in. 12 Congressmen and Senators have quite and won't run again in the mid-term elections. Others are up for tough races they don't expect to win. In 2008 who elected them? Blacks, Latinos and first time voters. What's happening now? The Blacks are wavering and the kids are rapidly becoming disenchanted with "Change You Can Believe In." All that's left are the Latinos. The party is desperate to keep that voting block. Tough. Regardless of what the Democratic Leadership wants, they do not have the power to overturn a State Law - Only the U.S. Supreme Court can do that.

So, look at the law. In effect most of the law is word for word taken from the U.S. Immigration Law. Are they going to overturn that too?

It's almost sad that the President of Mexico came out publicly yesterday condemning the law. But then why wouldn't he? After all, sending illegals to the U.S. is the Welfare System for the country of Mexico.

Oil Spill in the Gulf

I feel bad about the 11 workers who were killed when the oil rig off the coast of Louisiana exploded. This is a tragedy for their families and everyone should mourn them. But unfortunately, they have been forgotten in the idiocy of the "clean up."

First, the Coast Hugger Navy thinks they are going to build a dome over the well head at 5000 feet. Now there's a plan. I wonder who though that one up. More, I wonder how they kidnapped him from "the short bus."

Now they plan on setting the oil slick on fire. Oh, good plan, guys. You realize the well is pumping 1000 barrels per day into the Gulf, right? And you do understand there are two major problems with that stupid plan, right?

First, you are going to create a black, oily plume that will drift all over the gulf, as well as, over the coasts of Mississippi, Louisiana and Florida. Have anyone asked the people who live there what they think of that?

The second major problem is this is April 29th. Hurricane Season begins in 32 days. I certainly hope you have all the oil burned and the well capped before June 1st. If not, your fire and smoke will take out a good piece of Texas too.

Personally, I think there are most likely lots of mental institutions in the area where you can find more people with equally stupid plans.

I do have a question. What is BP Oil who started this mess doing?

Well, I really only have one thing to say about this.The Obama Administration has already stolen about $1000 from every Social Security recipient in America for the year 2010. From his perspective, they should have turned their SS checks over to him for his campaign. From my stand point, "el presidente" has been going after everyone who didn't support his campaign and rewarded everyone, even those who should be in prison for destroying our economy, who did support him.

I'm so happy that Obama is working so well with the Conservative side of the aisle these days after backstabbing them over Health Care Reform - something that almost nobody wanted.

Now with the seated Democrats up for re-election in the fall are abandoning the Senate and running out of Washington like the Hounds of Hell were after them, maybe Obama, Harry Ried and Nancy Pelosi are learning a lesson.

I have only one real observation. To paraphrase all the movie Indian chiefs of my youth, "Obama speak with forked tongue." On one side he's pleading with the Republicans to help cut the deficit (that he created with his massive "Bail Out" of his friends and major campaign contributors). On the other side, he wants to beat the opposite party into line on his Financial Reform. I hate to be the one to tell you, Berry, but that was done in 1932. The problem isn't reform needed. What we need is the Federal Agencies that were supposed to be our watchdogs to step up and take responsibility for the mess they allowed to happen. Then fire the bunch of them and replace them with people who have lost their homes due to the inaction and stupidity of those just unemployed.

Goldman Sachs

Yes, people. I've read it all. I've seen what the Senate has released of the emails. I've read the childish denials by Goldman's CEO. I've seen it all.

Yesterday, Obama got sot in the head by the Republicans in the Senate when they blocked his Financial Reform Act. Those dastardly Republicans! Just look what they are doing to this country!

Look! Goldman Sachs appears to have been playing the game by their own rules. Doing so, they made billions of dollars. I see that. But how is really to blame?

The stock market crash of 1929 taught us a lesson: Banks and other financial institutions will do anything to make money. They don't really care about us. All they care about are their shareholders and their bonuses.

In the 1930's laws were passed to regulate Wall Street and banks. Specific powers to oversee and prosecute where granted to specified agencies. The system worked for 70 years. Then what happened? Those agencies that were charged with oversight fell down on the job. Yesterday I read that employees of the FED, rather than watching the markets, watched porn instead. The SEC claims it only had 23 people to watch all the bank loans in America. Since there seems to be some 9000 people on the East Coast alone working for the SEC, does that mean of all those people only actually 23 work?

And what about the FED? Doesn't the FED have direct control over the banks? What were they doing?

I look at this and have to say, we are paying a large salaries to a lot of people to protect us from exactly what happened over the past three years and they were all on vacation.

Obama billed himself as the "only candidate who can work both sides of the aisle." Remember that? Seems to have worked pretty well as long as he didn't have to deal with the Republicans at all. The 2010 mid-term elections will be interesting.

From CNN Goldman Sachs was top Obama Donner. Now why would that surprise anyone? Everyone what was "bailed out" in earlier by the Obama administration were his biggest campaign contributors.

I'd love to see where she went to Medical School. But that's off point. Kitty Kelly's Biography is well researched and most likely 99.99% accurate. It does not support Oprah's claim to have been brought up in a log cabin, splitting rails to earn her way in the world and reading her school books by an open fireplace. Hey Oprah. That was ABE LINCOLN! The idea that Oprah was a drug user, her mother was getting some on the side, that here father isn't her biological father and so on are most likely true. Sorry Oprah. You tried to set up a phony persona but you got caught.

Of course it is a little hard to keep up with the world when you stare at it through cigarette smoke and through the a glass of Wild Turkey. But we know that "The Wicked Witch" Nancy Pelosi and Valenthe, AKA Harry Reed, will give him bad advise.

From MSNBC Civil rights groups fight Ariz. immigration law. So the obvious question is: Who are these Civil Rights Groups. Ha! It turns out to be only TWO - National Coalition of Latino Clergy and Christian Leaders Legal Defense Fund and The Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund. Interesting that the only people objecting are the two groups who are most interested in illegals coming into this country. Would they jump to scream and yell if the law were aimed at Poles or Asians? Hell no.

That's just silly. Obama's change has turned out to be "The Same Old Shit" with divisive assholes like R Emmanuel running the White House, the bail out of his Thugs in High Places, tax increases and Change whether we want it or not. Lets remember, this were not great under GW Bush, but OBAMA is responsible for taking a bad situation and making it a disaster. That happened on HIS watch. "I am the only candidate that can work with both sides of the aisle." Remember that? That works as long as the Right Side of the aisle is in the large minority it seems. "I'm giving you what you want." Remember that one? I guess I want higher taxes, a health care system that won't work, under-the-table deals in hight places with no transparency. Sure makes me feel better. And if you ask, NO. I am not a Republican.

Racial Profiling?

So Arizona has passed a law which will take affect tomorrow that gives the State Law Enforcement the opportunity to arrest illegals, charge them with crimes and prosecute them. So, who is screaming "RACIAL PROFILING!!" ? It wouldn't be the illegal hispanics would it?
So what is all the hoop-La about? The haters are screaming that this makes illegally crossing our boarder between Mexico and Arizon a felony. Guess what, folks. It's been a felony since the 1920's. But let's look at the history.

The first attempt at immigration contol occured in 1796. The law was ineffective since it only covered entry through certain states.

The first real law was passed as the Immigration Act of 1921 making it a Federal Felony.

Then the law was broadened and revised under the federal Immigration and Nationalization Act of 1952.

The law was further revised by the Immigration and Contol Act of 1995. This law not only tightened up the law but created the INS.

So by my arithmetic, illegal immigration has been a felony for almost 90 years.

But there's more to the history. The Federal Acts give the power to regulate illegal immigration to the INS and Border Patrol who acted as the police for INS. That was great until the second GW Bush term. In 1996 the INS estimated 6 million illegals in the U.S. Under Bush Homeland Security was formed. One of the departments taken over by Homeland Security was the US Border Patrol. In their wisdom, Homeland Security deleted all but about 100 Border Patrol positions leaving very few to patrol 1700 miles of border. In 2009 INS estimated 22 million illegals in this country.

Arizona has simply taken up the slake and filled the hole left by Homeland Security. Now tell me why this is racial profiling?

Texting

Yesterday there was an article stating that the majority of high school and college kids text each other at least 100 times every day. Why? Are these people so out of touch with themselves that they have to electroniclly group together to make one single intellectual entity? Are the kids today so ignorant and protected from the world that they are unable to think for themselves? Or is it a matter where they are so insecure that they have to group together electronicly to feel safe and belonging?

Modern, industrialized man existed on this planet for several hundred years without even a telephone. Now the kids can't even exist an hour without punching the keys on their cell phones. What's happened to us as a people. Who gave cell phones to kids anyway. That's like sending little Johnny to his room, stocked with a television, his own phone, his Game Boy, computer, WiFi and XBOX for punishment. Where in hell do you think the kid wants to be to begin with?

This story is even worse. I've seen middle aged male adults in grocery stores calling their wives on their cells to ask what kind of toilet paper to buy, which brand of bread, which toothpaste. For God's Sake, people. Learn to make a decision for yourself and live with it!

It seems the level of intellect in America is falling rapidly into a kind of group ignorance that requires everyone to be "connected" with all the other dummies so no one feels any less stupid than the others.

Religous Insanity

Good morning, people.
Something in the news this morning - MUSLIM GROUP WARNS "SOUTH PARK" CREATORS OF DEATH." South Park? So it's okay for an adult comedy cartoon to make fun of God, Jesus Christ or anyone except Muhammad? Isn't this the same rediculous threats (real or not) made against Simon Ruskey over a silly fictional novel? Can any group really be so sensitive that they would commit murder in some misguided religious fervor? It seems so.

And is this only the tip of the ice berg? I would say yes. Look at the insanity of the suicide bombers in Iraq, Japan and elsewhere driven by their intense, religious leadership to take their own lives, as well as, the lives of countless others. Their victims are not specifically targeted. They are just nameless faces in the crowd who happen to be in the wrong place at a time when these fanatics wish to make some nebulous political point that no one but themselves understand.

That is insane.

America's Road

Those who know me know I was not born in this country. I'm in fact a native of Northern Ireland. I've lived all over the world as a child but for the past 15 years America has been my home. Now that you understand that you will see that I have a unique view of this country - the social system, politics and historical outlook.

So you first question is: Are you some nut case Liberal or another Gun-Toting Conservative?

Sorry, folks. I'm neither one. I suppose I'm both in a way, and neither. I believe in the NRA and their gun safety programs. I have a strict belief in the U.S. Constitution. And, at the same time, believe we need changes in the way workers are enslaved by the system and in the direction the far left is leading this country. But, you will not see me at a Tea Party gathering either.

This blog is not about who I am, but about what America is and where it's heading. As time allows, I will post here my own thoughts on what I see in this country. I will most likely inflame some, maybe even insult others who's views are different than my own. I don't care. The first Amendment to the Constitution gives me the right to speak out. If you are insulted and/or inflamed, then you should look at your own positions and wonder how you arrived at them.

It will always be my aim to tell you exactly how I arrive at my own positions and how I went about evaluating the information. If you are unable to do that for your own feelings, then I feel sorry for you. Most of you are sheep who follow the party line without thinking. I am not one of those.
